AC 2011 Syrah 3L
2011 Syrah 3L
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Scents of violets, mixed berries and black plums lead to dusty notes of white pepper and gravelly earth. Full flavors of blueberries, blackberries and dates lead to hints of citrus-marinated smoked meats. Remarkable structure and balance lead to a robust, lingering finish.
From beginning to end, this was a cool year. The Walla Walla Valley experienced no 100-degree days for the first time in well over a decade. Despite the cooler weather, our vineyards were still able to reach full ripening, with harvest occurring approximately three weeks late. The longer hang time led to layered, nuanced flavors with vibrancy and natural balance.

90 Points - Wine Spectator: "Taut, vibrant and distinctive, offering green olive and green tea overtones around a lean core of blackberry and tar. Finishes with snap."
